The Elements of Greece

Climate: Greece typically has a Mediterranean climate.  During the summer months from May through September are the best times to visit Greece and enjoy the wonderful weather.  Although the hottest months can be between July and August with temperatures reaching about 40 degree Celsius.  The summer months are best for enjoying all types of water activities and enjoying the scenery.  The months to avoid are November through May since these are considered the rainy parts of the season.  During the rainy season is also the winter season which is usually a wet, cold period of Greece. 
Land:  Greece is composed of mainly mountainous regions and over 400 islands make up the majority of Greece.  Many of the islands arise from the sea throughout the seasons and these islands are known as the Ionian Islands. Greece is considered one of the most mountainous regions in Europe.  One main focal point in Greece is known as Mount Olympus which is a a popular tourist attraction for those travelers and hikers.
Water: Greece has three large main water bodies surrounding it's coast; The Ionian Sea, The Aegean Sea, and The Mediterranean Sea.
