Urban and Economic Geography of Greece

Greece is a very well developed country that sets their standards of living very high.  The main industries that support the economy are tourism, tobacco and food, textiles, mining, and petroleum.  Shipping is the key element in the growth of the economy.  Tourism follows close in contributing to the economy by bringing in over 15% to the GDP, tourism is also a major source of foreign exchange.
In 2009, average income for the labor force in Greece started at $29,882 with the average worker starting off at $20 an hour and working over 1800 hours a year.
